President's Message

Dear MdR Rotarians,

What an incredible start to our second Rotary year—thank you all for making it so special!

At our very first meeting, we witnessed a beautiful outpouring of generosity and Rotary spirit. In response to the devastating floods in Texas, our Board and Foundation Committee approved up to a $1,000 match for the Texas Relief Fund. And in just two minutes, our amazing members stepped up and donated $1,000, bringing the total to $2,000 going directly to those in need. This is Rotary in action—thank you for your kindness and swift response. Service Above Self in full force!

Welcome New Members!

We were thrilled to officially welcome Benedicta Ogbonnaya and Richard Andrews into our Rotary family. A heartfelt thank-you to Past District Governor Bette Hall for leading the induction with grace and warmth, and to their sponsors Geo Rocha and Lalo Marquez. We’re excited to have Benedicta and Richard on board and look forward to the impact they will make in our club and community.

Honoring Dedication

A very special moment of recognition went to Maria Davis, honored by Gail Brooks, our District Liaison, for her seven years of service and contributions to the Paul Harris Foundation. Maria, your commitment is inspiring—thank you for leading by example and strengthening our mission.

Community Support in Action: Camp Pendleton Drive

We are proud to support Camp Pendleton and Fort MacArthur with much-needed donations. These communities are home to over 70,000 Marines and 10,000 children under five, with more than 160 babies born each month. Many families arrive with very little, and your help matters!

How You Can Help:
We are collecting Target gift cards ($20 and up) through July 25.
Bring cards to this week’s meeting or to Happy Hour on July 17.
Can’t attend? Contact Monica Trepany to donate via Venmo or have a card picked up on your behalf.

Let’s show our appreciation for those who serve!
