HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON!
President's Message
Greetings Fellow Rotarians,

As we gather during this time of reflection and renewal, Yom Kippur reminds us of the power of compassion, forgiveness, and community. It’s a moment to realign our actions with our values, to seek and offer forgiveness, and to commit ourselves to making a positive difference. In our Rotary family, let us continue to lift each other up, serve with kindness, and lead with integrity, as we strive to make a meaningful impact in the world. May this season bring us clarity, peace, and a deeper sense of purpose.

We have so much to share in Rotary News so continue reading and don't forget to RSVP for our upcoming meetings!

100 DAYS + 100 YEARS
ROTARY SIP & SAIL SOCIAL
MdR Rotary & Beverly Hills Rotary

Last week our Club hosted a fantastic sunset social welcoming 25 members from the Beverly Hills Rotary Club on the beautiful Piranha VII, courtesy of Dave and Nancy Voss! We were honored to celebrate our club turning 100 days old with our friends in BH Rotary who are celebrating their 100 years!! That's right, for a century, the Beverly Hills Rotary has been a beacon of generosity, leadership, and excellence, setting the standard for what a Rotary club can achieve. Their commitment to the ideals of Rotary—Service Above Self—reminds us of what’s possible when people come together to inspire, support, and uplift.

What we have started to create within the Marina del Rey Rotary is remarkable and nothing short of truly exceptional!

CHEERS TO 100 YEARS OF SERVICE ABOVE SELF!

Which quote from below is your favorite?

"The sun may set, but our commitment to service shines on, lighting the path forward."

"In Rotary, as in sailing, it's not the speed but the direction that defines our journey."

"Sailing through challenges, Rotary remains our compass, steering us toward a better tomorrow."

"Every act of service is like the sun setting—illuminating the world with hope before nightfall."

"Like a sunset guiding a sailor home, service leads us toward brighter horizons."

"Rotary is the wind in our sails, guiding us to serve and uplift with every journey we take."

Member Update

As many of you may know, our dear Melissa has been in the hospital since her trip to Hawaii and we have her approval to share a status report for our members who have been reaching out. During her trip to Hawaii, Melissa bumped her head causing severe headaches and was admitted to the ICU. Thankfully our fellow Club Rotarians, Glenn and Kristen, were there to check in on her and bring her home back to LA. Immediately upon arrival, Melissa was admitted back into the ICU for observation and testing with around the clock monitoring. Very long story made short, Melissa is still dealing with complications keeping her in the hospital but in good spirits and hopefully back home soon!

Please reach out to Tracey, Bonnie, or Kurtis for further information!
General Meeting Oct. 17th ~ RSVP today!
In this week’s Rotary meeting, we are excited to welcome back two of our fellow Rotarians who recently returned from a humanitarian trip to Maui. They will be sharing their experiences and insights from the trip, where they provided much-needed assistance to local communities affected by recent challenges. Join us as they highlight the impact of Rotary's service efforts in Hawaii, the stories of resilience they encountered, and the ways we can continue to support these initiatives. It's sure to be an inspiring presentation that underscores the power of service across borders!
