Dear Rotarians,
This week the weather temperature went up and so did the fun! Our Happy Hour at CoCo Beach was a big success. Huge thanks to Jill Peterson for organizing, and to Pacific Ocean Management for treating us to delicious appetizers. And Peter, your line about our club being “the club that has fun” could not be more true.
As a surprise bonus, after happy hour we went to cheer on our very own Lalo Marquez at the Venice Art Crawl. Lalo, you never cease to amaze us. Only you could take something everyone dreads (cockroaches) and turn it into imaginative art!
The District Picnic Luau was held on Saturday with perfect weather, fun cardboard boat races, delicious food, and wonderful fellowship. A big thank you to Peter Smyth for coordinating on behalf of our club and representing us so well, along with Gail Brooks and Deb Berman.
This Week:
No regular meeting at the yacht club. After months of planning, it’s finally here, our Sunset Cruise Fundraiser is this Thursday, August 28! We have just 10 tickets left and we’re almost sold out. Please buy your tickets on our website. We’ll see you aboard the FantaSea Yachts’ Dandeana!

Congratulations to Helena Goto, who cracked the mystery in our photo contest last week and wins the $25 gift certificate to Trader Joe's! The winning answer: Peter, Tracey, and Jill were all wearing their MdR hats in the District Fellowship group picture.
