Art and Empowerment: An Evening with Lalo Marquez

🎨 Art & Empowerment: An Evening with Lalo Marquez 🎨

Join us for an inspiring evening with Lalo Marquez, a visionary artist and educator who has transformed the lives of countless young artists across Los Angeles. Born in Tabasco, Mexico, and raised in the vibrant city of Watts, Lalo's journey from self-taught doodler to nationally recognized art director is a testament to the power of creativity and determination.

Lalo Marquez is best known for his groundbreaking work with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Los Angeles, where he has developed fine arts programs that have garnered national acclaim, producing 24 national winners and 183 regional titles. His commitment to nurturing young talent doesn’t stop there. In 2012, Lalo founded PIECES, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources and support for aspiring artists aged 18-25.

Now serving as the Creative Director of Arts for the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley and the Eastside, Lalo continues to expand his impact, training art teachers to bring fine arts education to underserved communities.

During this evening, Lalo will share his journey, the challenges he’s overcome, and his vision for using art as a tool for empowerment and success.
